Kids Craft Essentials
I’m
Rainy days can be saved by some crafty fun, we have lots of crafts planned in the run up to Christmas and I’m keeping some fun ideas up my sleeve to entertain the girls once this baby arrives. As I mentioned, we have a cupboard full of supplies, our favourite place to re-stock is The Works. They have a fantastic range of crafts for kids at really reasonable prices. They have pretty much everything we need – from basics such as paint, crayons and craft papers to some fantastic little craft kits. We’ve picked up some plain wooden trinket boxes before, which, once kiddo decorated, make for fantastic gifts for family. They always have some great, seasonal craft kits in too – it’s worth stocking up so you can pull a fun activity out at the drop of a hat.
Here’s a list of some of the essentials that we always keep in our art & craft cupboard:
- Construction Paper
- Scissors
- Paint
- Felt tips & Crayons
- Googly Eyes
- Lollipop Sticks
- Pipe Cleaners
- Wool
- Buttons
- Sponges and Brushes for Painting
- Lace/Ribbon
- Fabric Scraps
- Glitter
- Glue
A few other items I keep on hand include Old magazines, toilet roll tubes, egg boxes, empty boxes as well as a few old shirts to keep clothes clean.
With a well stocked art cupboard you’ll be ready to craft whenever inspiration strikes! I found that keeping similar supplies in plastic boxes made it easy for the girls to find what they need, for example, we have a box of fabric scraps, another with paint in, anther with various craft papers. It keeps things tidy{ish}, easy to find and put away and means the girls can often get on without needing any help.
Is there anything I missed of my list that you always keep on hand for crafting?
