Review || The Pro Co. Vegan Skincare

Since having Oren, my skin has really suffered. Tiredness, stress, a less than fantastic diet, all have led to my skin not looking or feeling it’s best. I’ve had outbreaks of spots on and off, eye bags for days, and my skin just feels and looks tired and dull. I’m always on the lookout for decent, and affordable skincare brands – something that actually does what it says on the box without breaking the bank.

I recently came across The Pro Co skincare line. They are a new launch that focuses on high-performance vegan serums, which are cruelty-free, 75% natural and 98% plastic-free! Sounds too good to be true?! I assure you it really is true! They currently have 3 new products released – an Eye Rescue Serum, 7% Encapsulated Retinol Serum and a 20% Vitamin C Serum. I was kindly gifted the serums to test out and was very excited to see if they lived up to the hype.

The first I tried was the Anti-Wrinkle Eye Rescue Serum – I felt like it was the one I most needed – all these broken nights have really left my eyes looking tired and the whole area is very dry. I’ve tried other eye creams which have been too heavy for daytime use, this, however, was very light whilst still being hydrating. It left the under eye area feeling soft and moisturised, and my makeup went on over the top without creasing at all. The key ingredients are Cocoa Butter, Seaweek Extract and Grape Seed Oil. Even after just a few days, I can see a big difference to the fine lines I have, and the whole area feels so much less tight and tired too. It’s definitely earned a spot in my daily routine.

The 7% Encapsulated Retinol Serum I was excited to try, as retinol was a game changer in skincare, and I was keen to see what it was all about. Apparently Retinol needs a little while to show the real results, but so far I’ve been impressed. It left my skin soft, with no irritation at all. It was light and easily absorbed. Retinol is supposed to be fantastic for scarring and fine lines so I’m looking forward to seeing what effect it has on my skin.

Finally, I tried out the 20% Vitamin C Serum. Vitamin C is fantastic for brightening the skin, improving texture and appearance – and goodness knows my skin needs some help on the brightening front right now! This serum contains Stay-C®50, which helps skin tone and reduces the appearance of blemishes and acne, Hyaluronic Accid that revitalises the surface layers, and Superox-C™ that brightens skin, evens skin tone and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. It was a little sticky feeling when I first applied it but once it dried the stickiness vanished. My skin felt instantly hydrated and after a couple of days, definitely a little brighter. It also seems o have helped the hormonal breakouts I’ve been struggling with since Oren was born.
