Second Chances

Do you believe in second chances? What about third or fourth or tenth chances? Do you forgive yourself for the mistakes you have made? Do you allow yourself the grace to grow and learn from all of your experiences?

In life, I think that second {or more} chances come in the form of finding ourselves in a repeating pattern and seeing that we have the choice to make different choices this time around. Life seems to take us in spiralling circles, bringing back up lessons that we haven’t fully worked through and learned from.

Finding ourselves back where we’ve been before can feel frustrating – unless we allow it to be a time to fully sink into what it is trying to teach us.

We always have the opportunity to change our patterns, to seek out the lessons, to work through the darkness, and to give ourselves compassion.

Living stuck in the past, believing that we are our pasts, choosing victimhood over empowerment, or blame over responsibility.

Truthfully – the future is ours to create and make whatever we choose. Mistakes are not who we are – just something we have done.

Instead of thinking we have bad luck – see it as the debt from repeatedly making the wrong decisions, from choosing self-destructive behaviours, and not taking responsibility,

The only way forward is through, if we ignore what life is showing us then we will stay stuck in the past. If you want something different, then you have to do something different.

I am not my past. I am not my mistakes.
