A Spring #Shelfie
Ah!
I’ve been giving the house an early spring clean and declutter, putting away the remnants of winter and getting ready for a new season. Wayfair got in touch a few weeks back to see if I wanted to take part in their Spring Selfie project and I knew it was something to jump at. Our living room has a gorgeous old fireplace, with a big mantle piece/shelf over. I love to style it for each season, it was feeling a little bare and unloved since Christmas was packed away and definitely in need of a little spring makeover.
I decided to keep it simple with not too much clutter for spring – it seemed fitting to be light and airy. I ordered this gorgeous new mirror, it creates a great central piece for the shelf and reflects even more light back into the room.
I also picked up a new lantern and this ‘Let’s Stay Home’ print. I always have a framed quote on the mantle piece which I like to change up each season. The lantern is in my {current} favourite colour and looks so pretty and spring like, and even lovelier at night with a candle burning in there. I also always have a bunch of fresh flowers, currently loving a bunch of daffodils and this Orla Kiely coffee jar makes the perfect vase!
after a winter with a cluttered shelf {I apparently have far too many Christmas Decorations!!} its really nice to have a fresh, simple, clutter free shelf. Our living room is my ‘grown up’ room, and I like to keep the vibe in here calm and relaxing {even if half the day it’s overrun with kiddos and I’m constantly having to tell people not to leave their ‘stuff’ on my shelf ha!}
Thanks to Wayfair for the mirror, lantern and print. As always, all words and opinions are my own.

March 10, 2016 at 23:53I always love having a little spot that just looks pretty and reflects the seasons. Used to have it at my mom’s, but I haven’t quite figured one out since I got my own place.
Anyway, yours looks wonderful! And I agree, that is one lovely lantern:)
