Bonfire Night Treats

Sticky Ginger Bonfire Cakes // Marshmallow Sparklers // Sausage Rockets // Toffee Apples // Catherine Wheels // Spiced Apple Juice

This year has whizzed by so fast, I can barely believe it’s almost Bonfire Night again already! When I was little, I used to LOVE bonfire night so much. We always had a huge bonfire and all of our family and friends round for a party. I remember helping my Mum make treats in the kitchen {like these peppermint creams}, getting wrapped up in every layer of clothing I owned and spending the evening by the fire, down our fields. There was always a BBQ, lots of fun and some fab fireworks to watch. It was almost as exciting to go hunting for the empty firework packaging the next day!

This year, we’ll most likely be going to a friends for a bonfire like we have the past few years. It’s only a small fire, but we have some fab fireworks to watch and the kiddos have a blast.

I’ve put together a few ideas for some great Bonfire Night treats that you can make this week – they’re perfect if you want some goodies to take to a party, or even if you’re just having a little private party at home! Some savoury pizza catherine wheels and rocket sausages to start with, then ginger bonfire cakes, marshmallow sparklers and toffee apples for afters. My Spiced Apple juice recipe is perfect to warm up cold fingers and tummies too!

What do you have planned for Bonfire Night this year?

These look lovely – we don’t have a garden so we tend to try and catch a local firework display, we have two big ones that are really close by. I love the excitement of watching fireworks. Sarah
