I shared my Nursery Inspiration board the other day, and I’ve gotten most of the stuff I need for baby’s sleeping space. We were lucky enough to win a travel system a few weeks ago – this fabulous Cosatto Giggle! There are only a few other things I need to pick up….. after three kids, I know what I need/want and don’t, and we’re also not big ‘gadget’ people. This is my ‘Newborn Essentials’ list…

Baby Monitor
We had a basic baby monitor that we used for the girls, but I got rid of that a couple of years ago. They’re so useful at naptime, and once the baby starts going to bed earlier in an evening {hopefully!} I’m looking at a basic model again, I don’t want a video one or sensor pad… this Motorola one looks like it’s just what we’re after.

Close baby carrier
This was my very favourite sling when Baya was a newborn, and it was the first thing I bought as soon as I knew this baby was on the way. A cross between a ring sling and a wrap, it’s easy to use and incredibly supportive for a tiny baby. I used it round the house loads as it meant I had my hands free and could get on and do other things.

Cloth Nappies
I love a cloth bum… I was so sad when Baya was no longer in cloth nappies! Tots Bots Fluffles and Bamboozles are my favourites, I’ve bought a load of size 1’s already as well as a few wraps.

Cloud B Gentle Giraffe Soothing Sounds Toy
Looking for a white noise machine, I came across this cute Giraffe toy, that also plays four different soothing sounds that help baby to settle. I love that it also has a clip to attach to the pram.

Bath Support
I’ve used one of these towelling bath supports for all three of my girls, so it’s top of my list this time around too. Baby bath’s are too much faff to fill up… and I tend to bathe the baby with one of the older kids, or at least after them. This bath support keeps their head out of the water, and frees up your hands to wash the baby. It also dries off easily and doesn’t take up much space.

Bouncy Chair
While I love to wear my babies, there are times I need somewhere safe to put them down. I love this bouncy chair, especially as it’s not garishly coloured!
