The Five O’Clock Apron // At Home in the Whole Food Kitchen: Celebrating the Art of Eating Well // The Way of the Happy Woman: Living the Best Year of Your Life // Hey Natalie Jean: Advice, Musings, and Inspiration on Marriage, Motherhood, and Style

As part of my ‘slow summer’, I’m determined to read a few books that I have sat here waiting. I love to read, but haven’t really read anything since Vega was born. Lack of time, being too tired and having no brain power has meant I just haven’t picked up a book in months! I really miss reading and need to schedule in some quiet time – I’m thinking of dedicating the odd nap time to be ‘reading time’ for all of us!

I have these two cook books sat here just watiing to be opened. I don’t know about you, but I love a good cookbook. Not the ones that are just recipes. What I like are the ones that tell the authors story, that inspire you with words and pictures. I need to get back into some good habits for meal planning and cooking healthier, cheaper, from scratch meals every day. I’m hoping these two books will help!

I actually read ‘The way of the happy woman’ a couple of years back, but dug it out when I was packing up to move as I figured it would be a good time to re-read it. A great book for showing you how to get back in sync with your own cycles, to reduce stress and live a happier life.

I enjoy reading the Hey, Natalie Jean blog and ordered this book months ago, then forgot about it and found it again when we moved! So, finally time to read – I love that it’s all short pieces within the book – perfect for a five minute read before bed!

What is on your reading list this summer?
