Summer Solstice

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”
– F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Happy Summer Solstice! We’re ready to welcome in the longest day of the year. Unfortunaltely Papa has to work tonight {boo} but the kiddos and I are planning on a little fire in the garden this evening. We have all we need for smores {a fire essential right?!} ready and waiting. When we get back from gymnastics this afternoon we’ll be reading through our two favourite summer solstice books – The sunchildren and The Summer Solstice. We’re planning on making our summer bucket list today too…
Tomorrow we’re heading to a folk festival for the day, and Monday we’re going to Anglesey to meet up with friends for a day on the beach. Summer has begun!
