Maternity Series – Week 21
src=”http://thisenchantedpixie.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/maternity-series-twenty-one-weeks.jpg” alt=”” width=”100%” />
I’ve been feeling great this week – just getting used to the idea of having a boy after three girls! It was quite a surprise, but Kiki and Baya were very excited to be getting a brother! Lola is less keen on the idea of ‘boy bits’ ha! I’m glad we know, so I can get fully prepared for this baby. I’ve started buying some clothes, but am struggling to find boy things that I like. Turns out I’m really fussy, and so much on the high-street seems a bit ‘boring’. I want bright, funky patterns – any suggestions for good online shops would be great!
I’ve felt a few wriggles and kicks this week, he is sitting really low and I can feel him pushing on my bladder already! Other than that, I’ve felt great this week. Excited to get everything I need together and ready. We have a first name and just need to think up a middle name or two now!
I’ve a few bits for his nursery coming this week, so I’m hoping to get it finished soon. I need to get a few bits of bedding and still have to collect the moses basket from friends. But I’m getting there… should be ready in time ;)

August 11, 2014 at 10:02You look amazing and congratulations on having a boy. The clothes thing though, boys have so little choice but there is some funky stuff out there to be found

August 11, 2014 at 11:07If I was expecting a boy baby I think I’d be heading to all the shops that Fritha buys from (Wilf always looks cute). I’ve heard labels like Tootsa Maginty are nice and there’s Little Bird by Jools at Mothercare. I also just discovered this new little indie label: http://www.littledandies.co.uk/
I have to say, I’m also a big fan of H&M too :)

August 11, 2014 at 13:01I love Zara baby, it’s actually a lot better than Zara kids but only runs up to 3 so Willf will soon be out of it. I love Tootsa Maginty (but only in the sale!!) x

August 11, 2014 at 13:11I think you’ll find much better things online in terms of prints and colour – Though it’s a case of being persistent with the high st. Mother care has some nice bits sometimes, and even primark does but you’ll have to get a bit at a time and just pick things up from time to time. Super markets are suprisingly good, too, Asda George have some fun boys clothes.

August 11, 2014 at 14:53I always like Polarn O Pyret for baby clothes…they do really strong colours and bold prints. Happy shopping!

August 11, 2014 at 15:43Boys clothes are not the easiest to buy for and the high street is pretty much a no no. Great online stores include Love it Love it, Little Sunflowers, Juicy Tots, dare I say Boden!
Things have improved from when my boys were little, but there is a real gap

August 11, 2014 at 20:40Firstly, Congratulations! I have 2 boys and can only dream of having a little girl. I have a feeling another boy would appear. Boys are full of beans. Good hear your feeling good, I hope the rest of your pregnancy you feel great. x

August 12, 2014 at 00:20You look so lovely! Glad you are still feeling well; pregnancy can be so rough sometimes. My little one (who is not so little anymore at three years old) looked up at the compute and said, “Oh, she has a baby in her belly!!” So cute. :)

August 12, 2014 at 08:05Ooh, I think I predicted a boy! (Well, I had a 50/50 chance of being right!) I always managed to find bright and funky outfits for my son when he was a baby, one of my favourites for him was a bright green dinosaur playsuit – I still have it! That was back in 1999 though!!

August 12, 2014 at 08:45Boys shopping is a challenge – I love Polarn O Pyret for boys clothes but it is quite pricey so I only get a few key bits. Frugi, Boden and Joules have some lovely stuff too

August 12, 2014 at 09:59You look so well! I loved shopping for boys stuff – and there’s so much cool stuff about! I always jealous of the boys dept in H&M especially!

August 12, 2014 at 10:42It’s so exciting that you’re having a boy! I also found that it was super hard to find good boys clothes, you should check out babyccino kids shopping portal, lots of beautiful things there x

August 12, 2014 at 11:59Boys are fantastic – good luck with deciding on the middle name.

August 12, 2014 at 12:55Looking gorgeous Mama!
I like your diary entry – i did this too and still do. How exciting to bring a little man into the world after all these girls! x

August 12, 2014 at 13:01How exciting to have a boy after three little ladies! H&M and River Island have some fab clothes! x
Louisa
August 12, 2014 at 15:10I always found ( and still do) funky, boys clothes to be much harder to buy. I hope you find some suitable items. I’d suggest online suppliers because the high street has a pretty poor selection.
Jess @ Along Came Cherry
August 12, 2014 at 19:09With Cherry I found there were always clothes in the supermarkets / cheaper shops but with Tiger I hate everything from those places. Slugs and Snails tights and Blade and Rose leggings are fab and pretty much what he lives in! x

August 12, 2014 at 20:56What a lovely way to keep track of your pregnancy, have fun shopping for his nursery! x

August 13, 2014 at 10:48You look amazing again! So exciting! They will find his “bits” and his “flying pee” funny soon enough! (Always have a flannel or muslim left to cover it as you change him!)
When Danny was a baby and there was really only Mothercare, Adams and a few teeny sections in hight street stores I found it really hard to find anything that wasn’t pastel blue. In the end I found H&M was amazing and the (now grown up boys section!) clothes in there still suit him. No idea what their baby range is like nowadays though.

August 13, 2014 at 13:34We won;t have to buy much for our little boy as he is our third, but I love H&M for clothes! We do tend to stick to the cute stuff from high street shops though

August 14, 2014 at 12:41You look positively glowing. I just bought all our things on the high street, so am no help unfortunately.
