It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

At the start of last week, the excitement in my house was building – the kiddos were waiting for the tree to be delivered on the 28th, ready to decorate it on the first {The first envelope in our activity advent is always to decorate the tree – it kicks off the festive season perfectly for us!}.

Only Lola and I were home when the tree arrived, though we made up for the lack of people in our enthusiasm! This is the fourth year we’ve had a tree delivered from Pines and Needles and we’ve never been disappointed. Thee trees are always an excellent shape and arrive in perfect condition – though if you live in London, you can head to one of their stores to pick your own tree. If you don’t have the means to collect your own tree, or just don’t have the time, Pines and Needles delivery service is the perfect alternative. You can pick your delivery date and even designate a safe place to leave it if you’re not home. They can also send out everything you need from a mat to a tree stand – we also got a cute mini tree which is perfect in the kitchen.

Finally, the 1st came around, and Baya got home from gym and it was time to decorate! It’s always so much fun to dig out the box of Christmas decorations, and all the memories it holds. We use the same ornaments year after year, they are a mish mash of old and new, ones we’ve collected over the years, ones the kiddos have made and ones that have been handed down.

With the tree up and decorated, it feels so festive and cosy in our living room. the rest of the house gets decorated slowly in the run-up to Christmas. there is something so magical about decorating the tree through isn’t there? I think it is one of my favourite parts of the season.
