Review | Nutribuddy Breakfast Shakes

A couple of weeks ago, I shared my first impressions on the Nutribuddy Breakfast Shakes. So, after two weeks of enjoying Nutribuddy* for my breakfast, what did I think of it?

Nutribuddy* is a mix of organic oats, chia seeds and coconut. The chocolate brownie version that I have been trying out also has organic flaxseeds, organic cocoa powder and stevia. To make, you simply mix three scoops of powder, add the milk of your choice and shake! All flavours are high in protein, low in fat, vegan-friendly, soy-free, sugar-free organic, and gluten-free.

For the first few days, I had it as a simple shake – three scoops of the powder mixed with around 300ml of non-dairy milk. While the flavour was nice, if I’m honest the texture wasn’t my favourite. I found it a little ‘bitty’ though not unpalatable. Having said that, it filled me up really well – and was just as satisfying as a bowl of porridge.

After a few days, I tried blending it with a banana, and much preferred the texture {though it may have been the same if I blended just the mix and milk, minus the banana}. I found adding a banana thickened the mix a little, as well as leaving me feeling more satisfied – especially after a hard morning workout.

I also tried having it made into a smoothie bowl – for this I cut the milk in half, blended it with a banana {and sometimes some frozen mango}, then poured it into a bowl and topped it with some fresh fruit and seeds. This was delicious! So so tasty, super filling and tasted like I was having dessert for breakfast!

This is a quick but most importantly tasty breakfast alternative, that I think is fantastic! While I probably won’t have it every morning, I’ll certainly be keeping it in stock for those mornings when  I just don’t have time to make some porridge, or those days when we need to be out of the house first thing in the morning!

What’s your usual breakfast? Do you think a breakfast shake would be a good option for you?

Oats and chia seeds are very good for our health. Even I love to eat oats with banana, this gives me a unique taste. Thanks for sharing this post with us :)
