Review: Kazoops Music Album

CBeebies released a brand new show this summer – Kazoops. The show is all about Monty, a six-year-old boy who challenges life’s questions both big and small with the help of his limitless imagination and his best friend, Jimmy Jones, the family pet pig. In each episode, the duo enters make-believe worlds to challenge everyday preconceptions such as ‘do things have to be the same all the time?’ or ‘do all games really need rules?’

One of the things about the show, which have really helped it’s popularity are the songs. The music in Kazoops has been inspiring children with its variety of genres and whimsical combination of guitars, ukuleles, drums, glockenspiels, retro synths, string vocals and more. The beautiful songs from each episode successfully highlight the magic and power of a child’s imagination, and what sets the songs apart is that parents love and enjoy them too. They have just released a new albumn to go alongside the show with 20 songs from the popular Kazoops series included.

Beastie and I have watched a couple of the shows, so we’ve been having a listen tot he songs in the last week. I have to say, I was a little worried about another ‘childrens albumn’, but I was pleasently surprised. They were no where near as headache inducing or inane as I feared!!

This is Beastie’s favourite song…

You can buy the whole albumn, or individual songs. You can also stream them online
