Bedtime Stories – The Girl Who Lost Her Name

Bedtime stories – one of my favourite times of day. I love snuggling up with the kiddos and reading a story or two before they go to sleep. There have been a few firm favourites over the years, and when the girls were babies we read ‘Goodnight Moon’ every single night {I can still recite it without needing the book} – I’m planning on buying a new copy for Vega soon.

Kiki and Baya still enjoy a story before bed, though some evenings they’ll settle for a audiobook – a good substitute if Papa is at work and I have a noisy baby! But as often as we can, they pick a story. Usually Baya will opt for a picture story, and Kiki will have a chapter book on the go that we’ll read a chapter or two of together.

We’re always on the hunt for new stories – though the girls are often happy to have the same book over and over, I need a little variety if I’m not to fall asleep whilst reading. Thank goodness for the library!

Following on from me talking about unusual names the other day, we received a copy of ‘The little girl who lost her name‘.

A personalised story about a girl {or boy} who wakes up and has forgotten her name. She goes on an adventure to track down the missing letters and finds that they spell out her name! It’s a lovely story, perfect for ages 2-6 {although Kiki and Vega happily listened in too!}. The illustrations are gorgeous – always a big plus for me, I think good pictures are just as important as the actual story in a kids books – especially for pre-readers.

lostmyname book - bedtime stories

I think most children love a book with their name in it – Baya did especially as we’ve not come across her name in a book before! Each book is custom printed when you order it, ours arrived well before the twelve days that they quote and the quality is great – nice thick pages and as I said, beautifully illustrated. It’s a book we’ll read again and again, and I’m sure Baya will treasure for a long time. I think I’m going to order a copy to put aside for Vega too.

I have one copy to give away, you get to pick boy or girl, and the name you’d like for the book. If you’d like to be in with a chance of winning, enter via the Rafflecopter box below
