Stop the fade – VO5 dry shampoo

My hair has been it’s current red for four years, apart from a couple of months last year when I dyed it black. The main reason for dying it black, was that this bright red is so hard to maintain. Bleaching roots and fading colour make for a lot of work. But black hair just didn’t sit with me – red is my normal colour now, and without it, I just didn’t feel like myself!

So back to red it was. One of the hardest things is how fast the colour fades, I try and wash my hair as little as possible – once or twice a week. However, sometimes you just gotta wash it ;) So when I got the opportunity to try out VO5‘s dry shampoos, I jumped at the chance!

I’ve used a Batiste dry shampoo before, but honestly wasn’t that impressed. It was ok, but I often seemed to end up with white, powderer-y roots! Not a good look.

I popped into Tesco’s to pick some up when we went to grab some groceries. I opted for the ‘refresh’ version – they also offer a ‘plump me up’ one.

I tried the spray out on hair that hadn’t been washed for two days. Normally by this point, I’d throw it up in a messy bun for a day or two. I sprayed the dry shampoo in and gave my roots a bit of a ‘jiggle’. It made a big difference – my roots showed no more signs of oil and seemed to have a bit more volume after too. The dry shampoo also had a lovely, fresh fragrance which also helped freshen up my hair!

With the dry shampoo, I can get another day or two out of my hair in between washes, which will help stop the colour fading so fast! Dry shampoo is definitely a must for anyone with coloured hair or any busy mama! I also created a Google+ album if you want to take a peek!

I have got to find this one! I normally use baby powder but since summer is coming up, may need an actual dry shampoo haha

I have the same red issue with hair colouring and fading so maybe need to use this more generally. I initially tested it for a camping helping hand when completely stuck for facilities!
