Cutting down on caffeine – 4 fruity alternatives to coffee
I’ve been trying to cut down the amount of caffeine I’m consuming lately. Even though I don’t drink coffee in the afternoons anymore, I’m sure that the copious amouIts i drink in the mornings and all the cups of tea are contirbuting to my insomnia.
I’ve been experimenting with some delicious {caffeine free} fruity drinks this week – they may not be a cup of coffee but they still taste pretty delicious!
CHERRY & BANANA SMOOTHIE
Blend together a large handful of cherries {stoned} and a banana, with a half a cup of apple juice
PINEAPPLE MINT JUICE
Blend one pineapple with three or four mint leaves, serve over crushed ice
MINTY APPLE ICED TEA
Brew three peppermint tea bags in two cups of boiling water, leave for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool, then mix with 500ml apple juice. serve over ice and garnish with some apple slices.
BANANA APPLE OAT SMOOTHIE
Blend one banana, one apple {cored and diced} a spoonful of plain yogurt and a splash of apple juice.
I always start and end my day with a smoothie. Try this one: almond milk (homemade if possible) strawberries, banana, hemp seed and almond butter. That’s my favorite!
