Summer Living
Happy
Life feels so much easier in the summer time. The doors and windows are open wide, and our garden becomes an extension of the house giving us so much more space. The cabin fever we all had by the end of the winter has left – space to do our own thing and not all be crammed in a couple of rooms together day in, day out, mean tempers are improved and arguments less {less, not gone altogether!}
Food tastes so much more delicious when it’s eaten outdoors, even more so when it’s freshly picked from the garden just in time for dinner. Looking out of the window and seeing a rainbow of colours instead of grey and brown always makes me feel cheery. I love the smell of a freshly cut lawn and the feel of earth between my fingers.
I’d love to live in a year-long season of summer…. but perhaps we need those long, cold winters to fully appreciate the beauty of summer?
