A living room wishlist
One of my favourite things about this house is that we have more than one living room. After spending six years in a teeny house with the smallest living/dining room, having space to spread out is a huge treat. The kiddos have a playroom, we have a den that functions as a ‘man cave’/sleepover/guest room and a separate living room. I’m loving having a more ‘grown-up’ space. Vega does have a basket of toys in there, but it is more of an adult space, less about playing and more about comfort. A room to relax in, to unwind at the end of a day, so curl up on lazy Sunday’s and listen to the children playing in the next room.
We have two big leather sofa’s, loads of bookshelf space, my record player is out and there are nearly always fresh flowers. The room is fairly plain – white walls, a grey carpet and a huge bay window which lets in lots of lovely light. I’ve been moving things around in there recently, I created a new gallery
With Mother’s Day and my birthday in the not-too-distant future, I thought I’d start adding a few things to my Amazon wishlist to steer people in the right direction. I’m really loving the gorgeous pieces that Cox and Cox stock at the moment – especially some of the decorative home items. A few may have found their way onto my wishlist…
I’d love to get a couple more sheepskins, they look fab on my leather sofa’s and are SO cosy – perfect for warming cold toes! I love these plant prints, they’d look great on the wall about our TV. I’ve been searching for something to put in our fireplace, it’s blocked off {though I’m hoping to get it up and running for next winter} – I was thinking of either this glass vase or maybe this candle lantern would look good in there.
We have a large chevron rug at the moment, and this felt ball rug in front of the sideboard but I’ve fallen in love with this blush coloured rug – either a large one to replace our current rug, or a small size in front of the fireplace.
I seem to constantly be fighting to stop people leaving ‘stuff’ on the mantlepiece – there’s always a pile of change, or keys, or little toys… these copper bowls would make great ‘catch-alls’ – keeping clutter out of sight and look lovely too! Finally for now – I want to get these hanging glass globes to hang in the window. They’d look gorgeous filled with flowers or maybe some little air plants don’t you think?

February 1, 2016 at 11:50I’d love to get a sheepskin at some point. Probably when the kids are a bit older and I’m not terrified they’d trash it. Lovely, simple choices.
