Homeschooling and Netflix
I’ve shared before some of what we’ve been watching on Netflix… now that Winter is here {ok technically maybe not but the weather thinks it is!} we find ourselves watching more TV than through the summer. We don’t have ‘normal’ TV so Netflix is kind of an essential for us.
It can come in pretty handy for homeschooling too – there are always lots of nature programmes, history documentaries, TED talks and interesting films that the girls can wathc. It’s great to ease a little of that Mama guilt about too much telelvision.
I spent five minutes the other day having a look through and adding a few things to a list for the girls to watch in the next few weeks/months….
Life – nature documentaries looking at evolution of plants and animals
Secrets of the Tower of London – perfect for my history loving Lola
Planet Dinosaur – dinosaurs brought to life
Earth from Above – aerial photography of our beautiful planet
The Planets – a little astronomy!
Human Planet
TED Talks – Life Hacks – these are great, especially for my pre-teen
Yellowstone: A battle for life – we’ve been watching this series showing life in Yellowstone national park throughout the year.
