Review || Mr Frosty Choc Ice Maker
When I was a kid, I was desperate to have a Mr Frosty. It seemed like the coolest thing back in the 80s. I never did get one, though my kiddos had one a couple of years ago and it was fiddler to use than I’d hoped. Thankfully, the new Mr Frosty Choc Ice Maker is just as good as it looks on the box.
The kit contains lolly moulds so you can make your own frozen yogurt choc ices. My kiddos had a great time making {and eating} them!
It’s easy to use, and in no time at all, you’ll have your own delicious treats to eat.
The first step is to fill the moulds with yogurt, having added a stick first. We decided to make peach, strawberry and raspberry flavour choc ices. Once we’d poured the yogurt into the moulds, we put them in the freezer for a couple of hours. The mould is silicone so it’s super easy to pop the finished lollies out.
Next up is to melt your chocolate, the kit comes with an igloo that doubles up as a chocolate melting pot and a lollipop stand. If you’re using the igloo, just break up your chocolate into the igloo and pop in the microwave. We don’t own a microwave so we melted it over the hob instead!
This part seemed a little tricky, as we covered the lollipops with chocolate, we lost the shape and details of the snowmen – but they still tasted good! Beastie had fun decorating each one with sprinkles – though we had to be quick doing this, as the frozen yogurt made the chocolate set super fast.
They got a big thumbs up from the kids, both in terms of being super fun to make and super tasty to eat! This would be a great gift idea for the kids this Christmas.
Available from Asda, and most good toy shops and supermarkets.
