Review || Brio Cogwheel Puzzle

We are big fans of BRIO – they are always high quality, incredibly durable, and a lot are made of wood {I LOVE wooden toys!} – BRIO toys are made with FSC certified wood They also last really well – vital when you have a boisterous three-year-old playing with them!

Beastie has been playing with this fantastic BRIO Cogwheel Puzzle lately, and it’s safe to say he loves it! It comes with ten pieces  – the square board, and then nine cogs that fit onto the board.

The board itself is double-sided. On one side there are 12 circles, that are yellow, green, red and blue. On the other side, there are 12 circles, with shapes on the top – triangles, squares and circles and they are coloured yellow, green, red and blue .

The puzzle is aimed for 24 months +, the easy side {with just circles} is great for little ones to practice fitting the cogs on. When they’re ready for something a little more advanced, then can turn the board over and match the shapes on the cogs to the shapes on the board.

We really love this puzzle, and I can see it getting a lot of play. It’s fantastic for teaching colours and shapes, and also for developing fine motor skills.
