A little catch up
Hi
It’s been nice this week to have a week ‘off’. With Lola home from school, we’ve taken a week off from homeschooling/work as well. Long, lazy days have been heavenly… especially not having to get up at half six every morning – though to be fair, I’m awake anyway as I barely sleep these days, but it’s nice not having to try and drag a sleeping teenager from her bed every morning! She’s been staying in bed most of the morning, catching up on some rest.
We spent yesterday afternoon hiding from the storm, built a fort in the living room, baked cookies and watched movies all afternoon long. It really was bliss – even if Beastie got a bit overexcited, ate all the sugar paper decorations off the cookies and climbed all over his sisters! It’s been good for the five of us to spend some slow, quality time together. That’s not to say there hasn’t been lots of arguing – three sisters are very good at that. You know the funny little things kids say sometimes? Beastie has been telling me he wants everything to be blue this week – a blue dog please, a blue rabbit.. a blue Mama. I’ve been trying to be better at writing them down, the cute things they say or do, so I can look back when they’re grown up nad remember these little things that make up our life. I just downloaded the Skwibble app to try out – it seems a great place to record memories and milestones all in one place, and as I always have my phone on me it’s perfect!
Today Kiki has a friend coming, I’m working {or trying to} this morning, then hoping to get in some art time later on a painting I’m working on, if the sun comes out we might sneak a little walk in later on, before making homemade pizzas for dinner this evening. Enjoying these slow days, before the rush of school, homeschool and work kicks back in next week.
Friday nights are mine and Lola’s TV night – we’re working our way through Pretty Little Liars currently [and usually creeping ourselves out watching it ha!] – she’s a tub of Ben and Jerry’s waiting in the freezer for her, and I’ve some of these Wellaby Simple Bakes , I don’t eat any dairy/eggs/meat these days, and also don’t really eat sugary/sweet things – so these crackers make for perfect TV snacking – and they taste fab [my favourites are the Smoky BBQ ones]
