Review | Fotor Photo Editor

I take a crazy amount of photographs, of my kiddos and ‘lifestyle’ photos. Some for personal use, but so many for here on the blog and across my social media. Editing takes up quite a bit of my time, as does creating images specifically for Pinterest, or collaged images for the blog.

I’ve been trying out online photo editing this past week at fotor.com. It’s a free to use site {though they do offer a paid upgrade option}, that allows you to edit photos as well as create photo collages and has a selection of templates to easily create your own posters or social media images.

I was really impressed with the photo editing options; – it was really easy to adjust brightness, colours, sharpen images etc. You can also add frames and text to photos. If you wish, there are also several effects {filters} that you can add onto your images to enhance them.

The photo editor also offers some ‘beauty’ options – you can fix blemishes, smooth out wrinkles, clone areas, whiten teeth, make eyes ‘pop’ as well as many other options.

I often create photo collages for blog posts, so was interested to try out this feature too. As well as normal collage options there were some ‘fun’ ideas layouts too – such as hearts or zig zags. You can add stickers, text and filters onto the collages you create as well. I love how easy it is to change layouts, and move photos around until you are happy with the finished results.

One of the parts of the site I was the most keen to try out was the design area  – with pre-made templates for everything from a poster to a facebook cover, Instagram template to Pinterest pins, this is a bloggers dream! I played around for ages here, had a great time trying out all the different templates and making some images for posts – for me, this will be a real help for making Pinterest images to go alongside my blog posts!

I think this site is really useful – for bloggers, but also for anyone wanting an easy way to edit photos, or create collages of family photos! Tehy also offer a free downloadable desktop editor, as well as mobile apps – Apple here and Android here.

This is a collaborative post, all thoughts and opinions are my own
