Lighting Love – a lampshade wishlist

As I mentioned in my post about ways to save energy, we’ve just switched all of our ceiling light bulbs for LED ones. As our fittings are for bayonet bulbs and all IKEA’s lightbulbs are screw in, we also had to use their adaptor. The only downside to this is that it increases the lenght of the light bulb – meaning that a lot of my lampshades are now too small as the bulbs are peeping out of the bottom! As I don’t fancy being blinded everytime I sit on the sofa, or at the dining table, or walking up the stairs, I’ve been doing a little lampshade shopping. I’m not sure quite what I’m looking for but came across some very lovely ideas online. I want a big feature lampshade for the living room, as it’s quite a simple room decor-wise, I think a statement piece would look great.

I’m also in need of a couple of floor lamps for the living room, as the ceiling light is a little harsh come the evening – I really love this hanging lamp! My bedside lamp is on it’s last legs, and G doesn’t even have one – a pair of these little table lamps would be just the ticket don’t you think?!
