Best places to spend time online

Now that the nights have drawn in, the kiddos are in bed a little earlier and I find myself with a little more time in an evening to fill. There are always jobs to be done, but sometimes it’s nice to have a little down time. As I can’t go out in the evening because of the kiddos, I do my socialising online.

I’m grateful to live in a time when my friends can be just a mouse click away – even if I’m sat in the living room on my own, I can find someone online to have a chatter with!

Instagram and Pinterest are two of my favourite places online to spend an evening. Instagram is great for catching up on what friends have been doing {if you’re nosy like me, it’s the perfect snapshot into other peoples lives!}. Pinterest is a dangerous one – I can easily get ‘lost’ on there for hours at a time… browsing for decorating inspiration, new recipes to try, that perfect haircut or even some different craft ideas to try with the kids – it’s a fantastic source of inspiration!

Forums can also be a great place to spend some time. There are forums for just about everything you can image – new mums, pet owners, car enthusiasts – you name it, and I’m sure you can find a forum for it. They’re great if you’re looking to meet like-minded people, or are in need of some advice.

If you want to chat with some real-life friends, then you can usually find people you know on Facebook. I love catching up with friends on there that I don’t often get the chance to meet up with, and it’s also great for chatting to people who live in other countries.

Maybe you like to play games – if you’re home alone with no one to play a board game with, there are plenty of online options. You can play all sorts of video type games online, Scrabble and puzzles, or you could click here to play bingo and pass away an evening playing games.
