Save Money Shopping for Your Winter Wardrobe!

The colder weather has just started, and we’re already pulling out our old chunky knits and cosy coats. If you’re anything like me though, you probably want to update your wardrobe a little for this season. It’s nice to have some new seasonal items to see you through. I never like to spend too much on them though, so use my tips if you want to save money on your winter wardrobe!

Double Check Past Orders

Usually, if you’ve ordered from a company they will send discounts in the parcel. Make sure you double check any sheets of paper that came with your order to see if you have a cheeky 10% off your next order. In some cases, you might even get more. Always check these sheets before throwing them away.

Check Your Emails

Check your emails to see if you’ve had any recent discounts emailed to you. If you’ve ordered from a company before, there’s a chance you have a discount just sitting in your email inbox. I always check before ordering!

Look in Magazines

I like to stock up on magazines from time to time, and I’ll check the back pages for discounts of interest too. If there are some, I’ll cut them out and save them for when I need them. Just be sure you check the date so you don’t end up disappointed!

Check Instagram

Certain companies on Instagram will offer discounts to followers, so make sure you look for their profile and search their most recent pictures for discounts.

Look on Discount Code Sites

Discount code sites usually compile a load of discounts from different shops so you can find them all in one place. You might have to check multiple sites before finding a code that works though, so bear that in mind. To find out more, make sure you check them out.

Buy Second Hand

There’s no shame in buying second hand – I do it all the time! It’s better for the environment, and people usually sell things that they’ve worn a handful of times at most. I often find pieces that have only been worn once. You get so much money off and the items are usually in great condition. You can look on sites like Depop and eBay, but you could also shop vintage. I love a pretty little vintage find!

Shop Out of Season

Shopping out of season is a very smart move. Buy your summer clothes in winter, and your winter clothes in summer. If I were you, I’d make sure you only buy kind of neutral basics. Something that you think is in fashion now, might not be when the appropriate season rolls around.

DIY

DIY your current wardrobe and see if you can make anything new and exciting. You can use dyes, scissors, and badges to make a whole new looking wardrobe and it will hardly cost you anything!

Avoid Fashion Trends

The thing with fashion trends is that they come and go really quickly. Try to avoid them if possible. Only if you really adore a trend should you follow it. You’ll end up with lots of things that go out of fashion within a few weeks if you’re not careful.

I hope you enjoyed these tips!
