Let’s write a letter

We got talking with Kiki the other day, about things we had and did when we were kiddos. I happened to mention that I collected stamps for a while when I was her age. I remember having a set my Dad brought me home when he visited the Kennedy Space Centre in the USA. She decided that she liked the idea of collecting stamps and wanted to start her own collection.

She went off to browse eBay for a starter set, now she’s saving up her pennies ready to buy one! I told her that as we have family and friends in other countries, maybe she could ask them to send her some stamps. Then I thought that this could be a good opportunity to encourage some writing, so I suggested that maybe if she wrote a letter to people we know around the world, they’ll send her a letter back with a stamp on…. so she gets a letter AND a stamp. Unsure what to write, we decided to get a query letter review.

Needless to say, she liked that idea! I love writing snail mail {and receiving it} – one thing that I love is having pretty notepaper or cards to write my letters on. So much nicer than just a lined sheet torn from a notebook. I probably have nearly as many different sets of note-cards as I do journals…. new stationery always makes me happy.

We went off for a browse to find her some nice stationery ready for writing her letters. We came across some great kids stationary at Minted. I love that they can be personalised with your kiddos names, and most come in a choice of colours. The only hard part is picking which ones she likes the most! These are a few of our favourites:

If you’d be happy to recieve a note from Kiki and send her a little letter back with a stamp on for her collection, please drop me an email – she’d be ever so happy!

I remember stamp collecting when I was little it was so fun to do and I loved rummaging through my grandads collection. We’d love to receive a note from Kiki and Reuben would be happy to send a note back with a stamp from France!
