Earth Conscious

One of my large sponsors this month is Earth Conscious. Run by two mothers, Earth Conscious aims to bring you Eco-friendly products such as natural deodorants, steel straws and re-usable sanitary pads.

I’ve been testing out one of their natural deodorants over the past few weeks. I’ve tried a few natural alternatives, but this one is by far my favourite. There is a lot of concern about the chemicals in mainstream deodorants, as whatever we put on our skin makes it’s way into our bloodstream. Earth Conscious have created these 100% natural deodorants, with all ingredients coming from the natural world around us with no added toxins or chemicals. I’ve been using this Natural Organic Lavender Deodorant – a lovely, cream deodorant that contains coconut and lavender oils. Not only does it smell gorgeous, but it actually works, it really does stop any body odour. Having tried a few different brands, with not much success, I was honestly impressed at how effective this one actually was.

The deodorant has a lovely texture and is great even for sensitive skins. I found that unlike some other deodorants, it doesn’t stain your clothing either.

They were also kind enough to send me a couple of their re-usable sanitary pads, they are super soft and made from bamboo. They can also be used as post-partum pads – I’ll be trying them out soon, once this baby arrives! Re-usable pads are incredibly important, as it’s estimated that the average woman throws away an astonishing 125 to 150kg of tampons, pads and applicators in her lifetime. In the UK, the use of tampons, pads and applicators generates more than 200,000 tonnes of waste per year!
