Festive Face Off

It’s no secret that I love to get crafty, I don’t think I’m ever happier than when I’m covered in glitter and have a hot glue gun in hand! So when the lovely folk at Country Baskets asked me if I wanted to take part in their Festive Face-Off challenge, I didn’t hesitate in saying yes. The competition is between 30 bloggers, with the winner choosing a charity of their choice to receive a cash donation.

They were kind enough to send me a hamper full of crafty goodies – the girls and I were so excited when the postman brought it – we could’t wait to delve in and see what was inside! There was so much goodness inside. I sat for a few days, and let the ideas spin until one settled…

I wanted to create something that fit ‘me’, that you could see at a glance was mine. Something that blended in to my house and showed my love of a simple, boho, vintage style.

Using a wreath form, I covered it {actually using some of the packing materials from the hamper!!}, then added a length of jingly bells. They sound just like Santa’s sleigh {according to Baya}. The finishing touch was a vintage style deer ornament {hope he didn’t mind having his feet hot glued :O}

I love homemade Christmas ornaments, I’d say 50% off the decorations we put up every year are ones we have made {and the rest are vintage ones}. It really doesn’t matter if you are a ‘crafty’ person – just have a go!

Top Tips:
Plan out what you want to make first
Make sure you have everything on hand
Don’t be afraid to experiment
If it goes wrong, start again!
But most of all, HAVE FUN!!

This is an entry into Country Baskets Festive Face Off competition.

    You did a great job! I love the little reindeer… he reminds me of those velvet animals you always see at antique malls. I hope you win; you deserve it!
