This Week

I now have my jewellery in a brick and mortar store! // It got cold enough for slippers this week
Skwooshi fun

Happy Hump Day! My week’s seem to be getting busier and busier :/ Sunday I spent taking some of my stock and setting up displays in a brick and mortar store {Becnicks in Chester} Exciting to say the least! I’m really pleased with how the displays turned out, and the shop itself is fantastic. It’s a great step forward for my business.

Autumn is certainly making itself known here – it’s been so chilly! I dug out my slippers for the first time in months, and on more than one occasion seriously considered lighting a fire…. After a hot and sunny summer I’m really looking forward to Autumn. I’ve started putting the garden to rest for the winter, harvesting the last of the summer crops, digging in some manure, covering things over.

The kiddos have been getting back into the swing of homeschool after the summer break. They’re all so eager to delve into some projects. It’s fun to sit down together and learn about things that really grab their attention. We’ve been having some early morning fun this week with Skwooshi – a new, playdough like compound, that you can stretch, mold and shape. It’s a really weird feeling the way it stretches {I think Lola’s face in the photo above says that!!} The girls enjoyed playing with it – although the box promises it is mess free and my three seemed to make a huge mess with it all over the carpet! It makes a fun change from playdough or moondough, it was certainly fun to play with.

What have you been doing this week?

I’ve just been reading your about page and I absolutely LOVE your girl’s names, so lovely. I had my mind set on home-educating and then I had Jobey and couldn’t see how it could work but I love the sound of what you do ‘unschooling’ – my little girl is starting pre-school in the morning, only two mornings a week but if I see any sign at any point of her not liking it then we have just decided we will home school without a doubt. Life is so short and school hours are so long, it seems like such a long time not to spend together. Sorry for this rambling comment, it’s something that’s been on my mind all day! x
