do this

i came across this last week and it really struck a chord with me. how much of our lives do we waste hating who we are? wishing we were more like someone else? i know that i spent far too much of my life doing just that. did it get me anywhere? nope – all it did was leave me depressed. it took me a very long time to make peace with who i am. to realise that i am awesome just the way i am.
i’ve learnt to embrace my quirks, to make my peace with my body, and to be me unashamedly. i don’t need to be somebody else to be happy.
stop wasting your life wishing things were different. look in the mirror and see the beauty that is you. be proud of your quirks – they are the things that people love you for.
you are the maker of your own happiness – start now.

I love this and agree wholeheartedly! I am as guilty as the nest person of wondering why I can’t be this or that instead of just resting with myself.
