Refreshing the bedrooms
We’re in the middle {once again} of doing some room reshuffling, and sorting out. With five bedrooms in the house, everyone has their own room {expect the baby at the moment}. Beastie hasn’t actually been using his room other than for storage as he still sleeps with me. The biggest two girls have had a good clear out and tidy up of their rooms over the summer, and I’ve been trying to organise us all slightly.
At the moment, my bedroom is downstairs, but sometime in the next few months, I’m going to swap with Kiki and move back upstairs. I’m hoping that if I’m right by all the other bedrooms, Beastie might find he can at least start the nights in his own bed…. I also have plans to rip out the small office I have upstairs and make it into a nursery for Oren. While I’ve no plans to move him out of my room just yet, it would at least give me somewhere to keep his things and give him a bedroom ready for when he does want/need a space of his own.
I still have Beastie’s old cot for him, but I’m hoping to find some cute curtains, and possible a new rug and some prints to hang up on the walls to make the space a lovely little nursery for him. I remember putting Beastie’s nursery together when I was pregnant and it was so much fun!
Baya has asked for a mini room makeover, taking her room from little girl to tweenagers. She wants to keep the cabin bed she has, but we’ve been looking for some accessories to replace her old ones. I’ve found some cute new throws and pillows for her sofa on Lionshome, we’ve picked up a new lampshade so we just need to add a new blind and rug and we’ll be set. Replacing the old character throws and mismatched cushions with some in shades of blush pink, baby blue, and lilac will make a big difference to her room. We’re going to add some fairy lights around the sofa to make a cute reading nook, and we need to look out for a couple of new posters for her wall.
I’m actually looking forward to moving my bedroom again, mainly because it will give me an excuse to have a little makeover for myself! While I’ll miss having an en-suite bathroom, in reality it will be better and more practical for me to be closer to the little ones at night time. While I have most of the furniture I need, I’m hoping Lionshome have a chest of drawers that I love, and maybe just maybe a new rug – I fancy something fluffy or furry to warm my toes first thing in the morning. I’m planning on creating a peaceful sanctuary for myself, lots of blankets, cushions and fairy lights. Some shelves to put all of my knick-knacks on, some beautiful artwork on the walls and of course, a plant or four.
I do love a room makeover, there’s nothing better than revamping a space to make it feel brand new again. I think it’s nice to re-do bedrooms before the autumn and winter, so they’re all cosy for those cold nights when you want to get tucked up in bed super early!
I can’t wait to be all finished, and share some photos on here.
Post in collaboration with Lionshome.
