Making memories at Christmas

Making memories at Christmas

With Christmas just seven more sleeps away {EEEEP!} the excitement is building to fever pitch here. This is the first year that Beastie really has a clue what’s going on, and he’s getting pretty excited. I love December, it’s a month filled with magic and memory making. We’ve been enjoying all the activities in our advent calendar each day, the kids really look forward to finding out what we’re doing, and it means the magic is spread out the throughout the month.

Making memories at Christmas

While it’s always nice to get the gifts, for me, the best bit of Christmas is the run-up, the traditions we build, spending time as a family, catching up with friends, making memories that will last a lifetime. Sunday nights are always family movie night, we have a ‘picky dinner’ and all gather in the living room. It’s a great way to end the week and catch up with each other before another hectic week starts.

Last week we were lucky enough to receive a Christmas Eve box full of goodies from the super lovely people at Morrisons. It was the perfect excuse to have a cosy night in, and have a test run before Christmas Eve {wouldn’t want it to be less than perfect!!}. Not only did they send us these amazing Christmas Jumpers, but we got a copy of The Jungle Book, a gingerbread house to decorate, as well as mugs, hot chocolate and munchies for while we watched the movie.

I absolutely love that the girls and I have matching Jujumpers – this is the first time ever, Nutmeg at Morrisons is selling matching knits for all the family! They are available in kids sizes (1-14 years, £10) and adults sizes (8-22/S-XXXL, £12). Beastie hasn’t taken his jumper off since he got it – he’s funny about jumpers at the minute, not liking how some of them feel against his skin, but all products in the Nutmeg range are created with ‘thoughtful details’ including supersoft fabric and no itchy neck labels for kids.  I often pick bits up from Nutmeg for the kids, it’s great as it is available in all Morrisons stores AND the kids clothes are covered by Morrisons’ 200-day ‘no quibble’ guarantee.

We had the best night, Kiki took charge of decorating the gingerbread house and it was ages since the girls and I had watched the Jungle Book {I don’t think Beastie had seen it before}.

Do you enjoy family movie nights? What is your favourite thing in the run up to Christmas?

Thanks to Nutmeg & Morrisons for sending us the jumpers and goodies. As always, all thought/opinions are my own.
