35 Advent Activity Ideas
With
I love Christmas and almost all it brings – while the gifts are a lovely bonus, for me, I like to make the focus on the memories – having fun as a family, spending time with friends, making traditions and spreading a little cheer. My kiddos all have a chocolate advent calendar {and so do I}, because, what’s advent without a little chocolate in the morning? I’m not a fan of all of these ‘luxury’ calendars – full of beauty products or toys, for me, I don’t think that is what Christmas is all about.
Here are some ideas for including in an activity advent this year:
- Decorate the tree
- Make a gingerbread house
- Bake Christmas Cookies
- Play Secret Santa with your family
- Go Christmas Caroling
- Take an evening walk & see all the Christmas lights
- Make paperchains
- Go to a Christmas Market
- Make Cinnamon Ornaments
- Go out for Hot Chocolate
- Make Bottle Top Snowmen
- Decorate the Tree
- Make Reindeer Food
- Make a window garland
- Make paper snowflakes
- Watch Christmas cartoons
- Make Christmas cards
- Make Paper Lanterns
- Go to a Christmas Concert
- Watch the Nutcracker Ballet
- Make Christmas Playdough
- Make Snow Globes
- Decorate Pine Cones to make a table centerpiece
- Make a Pine Cone Birdfeeder
- Have a living room dance party to a Christmas album
- Make thumbprint snowmen
- Colour some Christmas pictures
- Make thank-you cards for after Christmas
- Hang some mistletoe and give everyone a kiss
- Make a popcorn garland
- Decorate a wreath
- Visit Santa’s Grotto
- Make footprint reindeer
- Make salt dough ornaments
- Go to a Panto
I’m also planning on printing out this Random acts of Kindness advent calendar – it looks like a fantastic way to encourage your kiddos to think about others over the festive season.
save for later
