Getting ready for Christmas Decor
Please
Come the middle of November and I start to get impatient, we always put our tree up on the 1st December and I cannot wait! For the past few years, we’ve switched back to having a real tree, nothing beats that Christmas Tree scent does it?! We get ours from Pines and Needles – we usually get a 7ft tree which fills up the corner in our living room perfectly {though the first year I was over ambitious and get an 8ft tree which was *ahem* a little large!!}.
One of my favourite things is pulling out the giant box of decorations we have and sorting through everything, planning out what we’re using that year. I don’t stick to a set colour scheme, or buy a whole load of new baubles every year. I prefer to have baubles that I love, that have memories attached to them…. I have a collection of old glass baubles that I love so much, ones that the kiddos have made over the years, special one’s friends have sent to me. We usually pick one or two new baubles to add to our collection each year. The kids have their eye on this Llama decoration {!} while I’m quite taken with this Babushka Bauble.
There’s something so magical about decorating the tree altogether. We usually pop a Christmas Vinyl on, pop some corn, make hot chocolates {with marshmallows on top!} and spend the afternoon making the house look like a winter wonderland. I have a collection of Nutcrackers that I also try to add to each year, and I’m thinking of getting these gorgeous fairy lights to string along the mantle in the living room.
I also love to change up the typography quote that’s on our mantlepiece for a seasonal one – I’m loving the loos of this ‘Baby it’s cold outside‘ print – or maybe this Have a Holly Jolly Holiday one instead!
I’m counting down the days until our tree arrives {18!!} and then we’ll be planning our decorating party!

November 10, 2017 at 13:43Oh I LOVE nutcracker figures, I’d like a giant one by the front door! I’ve found fantastic vintage baubles in charity shops, they look nice if you just pile a load up on a tray. I create a festive scene with white felt, an old dolls house, battery tealights and Lemax figures. Is it too early? Probably. Should you care? Nah! Xx
