Homemade Chai Concentrate

chai

A friend passed this recipe on to me, and I finally got around to testing it out this past week. It’s perfect for these cold winter days, when our fingers and our tummies need warming up. This recipe makes up a jarful, great to keep in the fridge and add to a cup of tea when you feel the need….

You Need:

1 395g can Evaporated Milk
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Place everything into a glass jar, give a good shake to mix it all up, then store in the fridge. Leave overnight before you use it first, to give the flavours a chance to develop. To use, simply brew a cup of your favourite strong black tea and add 1-2 tsp’s of the chai concentrate. If you have a particularly sweet tooth, you can add a spoonful of honey too.

I think I will be drinking lots of this these next couple of months. I hope you’ve all had a good weekend? What have you been doing?
