Girls Night In

With Papa at work on Friday night, the kiddos and I had a movie/pamper night. It was Baya’s turn to pick the film and she opted for The Princess and the Frog. Some freshly popped corn, a couple of chocolate cakes, hot chocolate to drink and it was the perfect evening. We’d been waiting for a chance to test out this Nail Laboratory Kit. The kiddos liked the idea of mixing their own nail varnishes up!

The kit is a great idea, but I felt it was a little disappointing. It only came with a white and red colouring to add, so there wasn’t much option on what colour nail varnish you would make! Also, the actual nail varnish was very runny and thin, making it hard to apply and get a good result. The stickers that came with it didn’t actually stick very well, and were quite large when they are aimed at little girls fingernails.

Still, the idea is nice, and we had fun playing with it, mixing up nail varnish and painting each others toes. I think I’d rather just buy them ‘grown up’ nail varnishes in future though, the results from these were pretty disappointing.
