The Enchantement of Chester Zoo
The
The premise is simple – An evil sorcerer is casting a spell on Chester Zoo, trying to steal the super powers of nocturnal animals. Visitors this Halloween will have until dusk to break the spell.
From 21-31st October, Zoo visitors will meet a cavalcade of friendly costumed performers, that help you gather the knowledge to gain access to Owl HQ, break the sorcerer’s spell and save the zoo from falling asleep forever! When you arrive at the Zoo you are given a special map, and introduced to the story before you are sent on your way to visit the Moths, Giraffes, Sloths and Orangutans, collecting sleepy facts and potion which you take to Owl HQ to break the spell.
The Zoo is a great day out, even on a cool Autumn day. We loved having a mission to complete as we made our way around all of the animals. The kiddos loved finding out sleepy facts about each animal and filling their vials with ‘potion’. Beastie and Kiki even got to help the Orangutans make a nest!
When we arrived back at Owl HQ with four vials full of potion, they loved pouring it into the pot to open the door to go break the spell. The performers are all mesmerizing and really engage the children. They loved chanting along to break the spell!
The Enchantment of Chester Zoo is most suitable for families with children aged 3 plus, but enjoyable for all ages. The event is free with normal zoo admission from 21 – 31 October. You can purchase your tickets here
We were guests of Chester Zoo to experience The Enchantment of Chester Zoo but all views and opinions are our own.
