Moving homes is exciting. However, nothing is as good as renovating your home. Putting your own mark on it and bringing that dream from your head into reality. However, this is not the most cash-friendly thing to do, especially if you have never done it before. Because of this, you don’t want to be spending lots of money in the wrong areas. There are loads of ways that you can renovate your home to make it look fresher or add value to it. If you are struggling with where to start, then here are just a few ideas to get you started.

The flooring

Improving the flooring is a great way to change the look of any room. You will be surprised how much of a difference it makes. Improving your worn-down

flooring and swapping it for cozy, soft carpets or classy and rustic LVP flooring (luxury vinyl planking), can truly bring a room together and it will stand out against your furniture. Flooring is not super expensive and means you don’t need to replace every piece of furniture in your home. The typical thing to do is to have vinyl planking in living spaces but carpet in bedrooms. Planking is easier to clean while carpet is more welcoming.

Rejuvenate or replace the front door

This is the first thing you and any guests will see of your home. It is amazing how quickly people will make a judgment on your home before they have even set foot inside of it. If you are looking to spruce up your home, or looking to increase the chance of selling it then refreshing your door is a must. It may be as simple as a coat of paint, or you may want to go the whole hog and replace it. Just make sure that it suits the exterior of your home.

Stair runners

This is a really simple thing to install but can make a world of difference to your home adding color and texture. Depending on where your stairs are in your home, again they are one of the first things that a guest will see. Stair runners can hide any damage to your steps and make them less rough looking. It is also a great way to experiment with different styles if you don’t feel bold enough to repaint the entire area.

Repointing your cornicing

If you are fortunate to have an older home with original features, then this is a real boon. However, very few people look after things like the cornice which is a shame. These features can really tie a room together. Sometimes all you need to do is strip back the decade’s worth of paint that has built up. If you need more restoration work, it may be worth hiring a professional.

Renovating your home

There is lots of fun to be had here and it does not need to cost the world. The best thing you can do is to work out your budget and start planning from there. You can take your time on these works and make sure you get them right.
