Women’s Retreat – a powerful weekend
Last weekend, I was lucky enough to attend a Women’s Retreat, organised by a wonderful friend and attended by ten other amazing women. It honestly was the most amazing weekend of my life.
I had to take Oren with me, for one he has never slept away from me, and also the kids Dad was away with the older ones, meaning I had no one to have him even in the day times for me. I won’t lie, in the run-up I was SO anxious about taking him. I knew it would impact me {I had to sit out a couple of the meditations} ut I was most worried that he would be in the way, and spoil it for everyone else.
In the end, he had an amazing time, everyone loved him and said how nice it was to have him there, he made lots of new friends, loved having so much attention on him and it went fine!
The weekend – I don’t even know where to start, or how to put it into words. It was such a powerful, transformative weekend. We made bonds that will last forever, I have never felt so comfortable in a group of women before. We cooked together, gathered around the fire, talked, took part in workshops, cried, hugged, danced together.
On Sunday, Lily ran her ‘Empowering Women’ Workshop, which cracked me wide open and changed me so much. An hour-long Yoga Nidra and meditation {that amazingly Oren slept through so I could join in}, then she read the most inspiring poem before we danced together. We all shed so many tears, then came together for her boobie printing workshop.
Oren did look a little bewildered by the sight of eleven women painting their boobs and making prints! But it was SO powerful. The energy in our circle was immense, every single one of us felt so connected, powerful, uplifted, supported, loved.
So many emotions were brought up for me over the weekend, I came home mentally exhausted, but in a good way. I’ve worked through so many blocks, had breakthroughs and seen myself through others’ eyes.
I am so grateful for this time, for the connections made and the love showered on me. I cannot wait for the next one {and am hoping I will be Oren free!!}
