Review | Hawkshead Outdoor Wear

The weather has been pretty appalling here the last couple of weeks, we seem to have gone straight from summer {not that this summer was that good} to winter – it’s been cold, wet and windy! We’ve dug out winter coats and boots, though obviously, all the kiddos have grown meaning everyone has needed kitting out in new gear!

We do lots of walking {both for pleasure and just as a means of transport as I don’t drive}, so having ‘sensible’ footwear really is an essential as is a good warm winter coat, that is waterproof too. I’d sorted the littler three out with coats and boots, but had yet to take Lola shopping, so when Hawkshead got in touch to ask if we’d like to review some products from their site, I sent Lola off for some online window shopping.

She was happy to find black boots AND a black coat {ha!} in the women’s section  – also, how good is it that I can pinch her clothes now we’re the same size?! After a bit of deliberating, she chose this Waterproof Parka Jacket and these hiking boots.

The jacket is so good – lovely and warm AND waterproof which is a real bonus. So often the kid’s winter coats are either waterproof OR warm, so having a coat that will keep her warm and dry is perfect, especially living here in very wet Wales! It’s a great quality coat, mid-thigh length so there are no annoying cold draughts you get with a short coat, it has decent sized pockets and a cosy fur trimmed hood.

Lola has worn the hiking boots pretty much non-stop since they arrived. We’ve been in the midst of one storm after another, and these have kept her feet dry and toes warm {she’s like me and gets super cold toes really fast!} She also commented on how comfortable they are. Whi

sjkfskjfle they may be hiking boots, they look great with jeans and work perfectly as every day boots – especially when you’re living somewhere so cold and wet!
