Dressed by the Kids day

With OXFAM’s ‘Dressed By The Kids Day’ coming up this Friday, I thought I’d share with you my experience on letting my kids dress me. Kiki and Baya were let loose on my wardrobe, they spent a long time picking out an outfit, though they have obviously been making notes as they didn’t pick anything too wild and wacky!

After a lot of debating, they picked out a flowy skirt and a Breton top. To be fair, I wouldn’t usually put the two together, if I’m wearing something patterned, I’ll put a plain piece of clothing with it – and usually opt for a more fitted top with a flowy skirt. It was nice actually, as I’ve been stuck in a wearing jeans everyday rut – so it was good to step out of my comfort zone and back into a skirt. Kiki especially is very interested in fashion, so it was fun to see her actually style a ‘real’ outfit as opposed to just dressing me up!

As part of the campaign, children from a much-loved reality TV programme star in a viral video to launch Oxfam’s new fundraising event, Dressed by the Kids Day.

Those embracing the opportunity and taking part in Dressed by the Kids Day will raise vital funds for Oxfam’s fight against poverty. In just 15 years, extreme poverty has been halved and in 15 more years, it can be ended for good. Those who want to unite the family in something truly fun and unique can sign up via www.oxfam.org.uk/dressedbythekids, where they will be issued a unique text code to allow family and friends to sponsor them in an instant.

Are you taking part in this great, fun campaign on Friday???
