Autumn Wish List for the home

autumn wishlist for the home (1)

Rug // Throw // Cushion // Mug // Terrariums // Diptyque Candle // Woodlot Candle  // Baskets

Now that the clocks have changed, and the evenings are dark before we’re sitting down to our dinner, we find ourselves spending more time at home. In the summer we often head to the park in the evenings, running around, swinging and playing games. It always takes us a few weeks to adjust to not going out after dinner.. instead we start spending cosy evenings together in the living room… music playing, hot chocolates ready and board games out.

While I did a big declutter when we moved, I’ve just done another sort through of some of our things, getting rid of clutter that I find I don’t want/need in this new house and in its place adding a few new pieces. With big leather sofa’s there is seating for us all at last, but they can be a little chilly on your tush – so I’ve been stocking up on some new throw blankets to snuggle up with – I’m loving the pom poms on this black and white striped one. Also seriously yin love with these gorgeous Orla Kiely cushions – think the colour would look fab on my brown sofas.

Layering lots of warm, cosy fabrics is key to making a room feel warm even into the winter. I love this soft sheepskin rug which would be perfect in front of our fireplace – and how cosy would it be to sit on?!

I’m in need of some more baskets – these two would be perfect in the living room for storing all those throws and one for newspapers and magazines.

I probably already have far too many candles – but couldn’t resist a couple of new scented candles to burn on those chilly autumn evenings. I’ve also included a new reusable coffee mug on my autumn wish list – my last one vanished when I moved and it might save me a small fortune in takeout coffee.

I’m in search of a few new plants, I have quite a lot but this house is so much bigger than the old one that suddenly I don’t seem to have enough – love these hanging terrariums so much.

What is on your Autumn wishlist?

I love scented candles, but tend to find that they smell lovely before being lit, and then don’t seem to smell of much when I do light them – have you found any that don’t do that, preferably that aren’t too expensive? :)
