And it will happen quicker than you think, here are a few of the things that you can do to help:

Talk To Your Manager Before

This doesn’t need to be anything too formal, however, it still needs to address any of your concerns. With the way that things are with Covid-19, you’re more likely to need to do this sort of thing over a video call, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a cuppa and a good chat about your return. Talk about things like changes within the company or teams, whether sales have been good, whether there has been any change to procedures or protocols, arrange your KIT days, and what they are going to do to help you get back into the swing of things.

Arrange And Complete Your KIT Days

These are Keep In Touch days, you use them to go into your workplace to slowly get back in the swing of things after you have been off. It will help prepare you for any major changes, and also give you an idea of what your work-life balance will be like on a daily basis. Using these will make your first day back much less worrying and scary, and instead, make you feel ready and prepared for your return.

Treat Yourself To A New Wardrobe

Although this may not be the easiest time to spend money, after all the first year of a baby’s life can be expensive, it’s a good idea to allow yourself some new pieces in your wardrobe from your budget. Work gives you the chance to dress smart, and by now you are probably well-practiced at living in items that are covered in all things baby from milk to poo. In fact, this one of the reasons why some people like to return to work, it allows them some time to stay fresh, presentable and find your look now you’re a mom, and although some will find it shallow, it can be a good boost to your morale

Plan Your Childcare Well In Advance

One of the nicest parts of returning to work is that you are doing something for you. Yes, you are paying the bills, mortgage, and paying for your child, but it can be hard to leave them, especially when it’s the first time. One of the best ways you can help yourself get through this is to plan your childcare well in advance.
