After a warm, dry and sunny bank holiday weekend, we are back to rainy days. In our house, rainy days usually equal art days. Yesterday we tried out the new Aquarelle Watercolour set. It came with three {yay!} pre-printed canvasses, five base colours and a double sided paintbrush. Surprisingly, the girls had no arguments over who had which canvas!! There was also a mixing guide, showing how many drops of each colour you need to make various shades.

The girls had a great time trying it out, as did Mama! I was really impressed with the paints – five base colours gave us endless shades, they mixed beautifully and came out incredibly well. All the girls enjoyed using the paints, and found them easy to work with. The canvasses feature water repellent lines, which keep the colours from running into adjoining sections. The set is aimed at 8+ but my four year old managed it with just a little help.
