Creating a Cosy Sleep Space for Autumn

I think Autumn is quite possibley my favourite season of the year. As much as I love the long, warm days of summer, there is something magical about those crisp Autumn Days that makes my heart sing.

For the last few weeks, I have been dreaming of hot chocolates, roaring fires, falling leaves and crisp autumn walks. I’ve been longing to bring that cosiness into my bedroom – which is my favourite spot in my home. It is my sanctuary amidst the hustle and bustle of busy family life. A cosy space of your own is very much needed for some relaxation this Autumn.

Embrace Comfort

The bed is the cornerstone of the room, whether it’s for getting a good night’s sleep, curling up with the kids on a Sunday morning, or wrapping in blankets to watch my favourite shows in the evening. Having the best mattress you can find is essential. A new mattress may be a significant investment, but it can make a huge difference to your sleep and comfort. Simba offer a Hybrid Essentials Mattress – a budget friendly option offering exceptional comfort and support. Adding a mattress protector can also offer an additional layer of comfort. Choose warm down duvets, brushed cotton sheets, fleece throws, piles of velvet cushions and some crocheted blankets to turn your bed into a cosy haven that you can’t wait to retreat to.

Switch your colour scheme

This is a great time to change up your colour scheme. Maybe you’re ready to redecorate and fancy painting your walls in warm autumn colours such as rich browns, warm reds or vibrant greens. Even if you can’t paint the walls, you can add some autumn tones through your bedding, throw pillows, rugs or curtains.

Think Lighting

Nothing kills the cosy vibe like bright overhead lighting. To create a more welcoming vibe this autumn, think soft, warm lighting. Fairy lights draped around a mirror, salt rock lamps by your bedside, cosy bulbs in table lamps and all the candles will create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Add in some autumn decor

I’m all about the little details – I love trinkets and decorative pieces that add life and warmth to a room. The shops are full of seasonal decor right now, and they offer an affordable, easy way to update your room for the new season. An autumnal garland, or crocheted pumpkin can add a little autumn vibe without being too in your face.

Scent matters

Along with warm lighting and comfy fabrics, scents play a big role in the feel of a room. I still love to burn incense or run my diffuser, but scented candles are my favourite go-to. They create a cosy autumn feel during these cold months, offering light and scent. Think warm, comforting scents such as vanilla and brown sugar, that will inspire you to dig out a cosy sweater and curl up with a book under your duvet.

Do you love Autumn too? What’s your favourite tip for a cosy Autumn season?
