Review || Bare Vida – cutting out the plastic
As a family, we are really conscious of how much plastic we use {and waste}. I try and avoid buying things that are encased in plastic wrapping as much as possible and avoid single-use plastics like the plague. We take our own drinks with us wherever we go, I always carry some reusable straws in my bag for if we stop for a drink anywhere.
We recently were sent some products from Bare Vida– a set of bamboo straws and a bamboo utensil set.
The utensil set comes in a sustainably-sourced cotton carry case, making it easy to keep it in your bag. It is handmade in Bali from organic bamboo and includes a reusable fork, knife, spoon, chopsticks, and straw – giving you everything you need to avoid plastic utensils when eating on the run. The utensils are great quality, and I think they’ll last a long time. I’ve used mine a few times when I’ve taken lunch out with us – they also come in handy when I was caught short and had to buy salad pot at M&S – avoided me needing to pick up a plastic spoon!
It really isn’t a hard habit to get into to keep a set of these in your handbag at all times, they take hardly any space and are not heavy, and it does make for an easy way to avoid single-use plastics when eating out.
The bamboo straws again are fantastic to keep in your bag – if you have little ones like me, you know that they love a straw to drink through – having these on me at all times means I can always provide a straw that isn’t plastic. Each pack comes with two organic bamboo straws, a straw cleaner that is made from coconut bristles all packaged in a gorgeous cotton carry case.
