Review || DSST Exam Prep

A couple of months back, we looked at the CLEP Exam preparation resources from Study.com, they have recently launched an additional test prep resource for students looking for college credit through DSST exams. Similar to CLEP exams, DSST exams are offered to allow students to gain college credit for their prior knowledge. While some test areas overlap with CLEP (like college calculus), there are also some DSST exams that don’t have CLEP equivalents, like technical writing, public speaking, and several specific history exams, like “History of the Vietnam War”.

DSST exams are accepted at over 1900 institutions across the USA and are a fantastic way to transfer real-life experience into more university credit. Also, a passing score on a DSST exam will help show an admissions department that you’ve got what it takes to be a strong college student.

Study.com have a big selection of DSST study guides, from Money & Banking, Environmental Science, Fundamentals of Counselling to Art of the Western World. I checked out their study guides and was really impressed at just how comprehensive they are. They have all the content and tools that you need to study and pass the exams. I loved that the courses have lots of video lessons {that are fully transcriebbed} to keep your studying fun. Mini quizzes after each lesson make sure that you have understood what you are learning as you’re going along, and cumulative tests at the end of each chapter allow you to assess your progress.

They also have practice tests available – these are a great way to find out your strengths and weaknesses before you begin studying a subject. If you are looking for a way to gain some college credit, then the DSST exams seem like a great way to go – and with all of Study.com’s resources you’re bound to ace them!
