Life, Lately

Life Lately

Hello! September…. seems this summer flew by! We’re easing ourselves back into our normal rhythms this week, Lola went back to school yesterday and the little three and I added some last bits to our summer bullet journals and started this month’s book club book. Today the littlest two are with their dad for a bit, and Miss Kiki and I are off on a shopping date to Chester just the two of us – she is VERY excited to spend her birthday money!

This summer turned out fantastic. Even though the weather was less than summery for the most part, we had a busy few weeks, snuck in a few trips, lots of fun and made some amazing memories. Three trips away for all of us {and a week at guide camp for Kiki}, I’m not particularly rested but honestly, I think this was THE best summer we’ve ever had. The festival we went to was so much fun {even better than last year, mainly as I had friends there to catch up with which really made it fun}.

Then we had a long weekend back at my Dad’s and found a couple of days of sunshine whilst we were there, and this last weekend we went away with my brother, my sister and two of her girls to Snowdonia. We stayed in a little cottage in Llanrug which was perfect – all of mine would quite happily have stayed there for good! We had a day at Zip World – where I even conquered my fear of heights and had fun on the Treetop Nets!! – and then the Ffestiniog Railway on the other day we were there. Two weekends of family time really were just what we needed – though it’s totally backed up my feeling that we need to move to be nearer to family all the time.

Add in a few days out here and there, catching up with friends, BBQ’s, evenings around the fire pit and a whole lot of laughter and it really was a fab summer! The past few days have felt so Autumnal, there’s a chill in the air when I wake up in the morning, I can already see the evenings drawing in and see the changes coming in my garden. as much as I’m a warm weather gal, I do love Autumn – it always feels like the beginning of something to me, rather than the end.

Hope you all had a great summer too? What did you get up to?
