Review| Cutting my mobile bill with LIFE Mobile
I
G and I have used contract phones for the last 7/8 years – paying monthly gives us a far better deal than a pay-as-you go option given how much we use our phones. When we last upgraded our phones, I was a little horrified at how much we were spending every month {mainly just to get a new phone}. Then a few weeks ago, LIFE Mobile got in touch with me to see if I’d like to review their SIM only tariffs. I had a little nosy around their website and was really surprised at how great value their plans were.
I opted to go for their ‘MAXI’ tariff as I use my phone a lot, and generally get through quite a bit of data each month. This plan is just £13.95 each month and you get 4000 UK minutes, 5000 texts and 4GB data – far better than what I’d been getting previously for twice as much. They have three other tariffs – Mini {£4.95 p/month}, Value {£7.45 p/month} and Everyday {£9.95 p/month}.
I think these are fantastic value for money, I’m thinking of purchasing SIM plans for my elder two children. They both have phones so they can get in touch if they need me {the eldest goes out and about with her friends now, and takes herself to groups – and the second eldest often goes to the park or over the road to a friends house}. One thing that I really love is that LIFE Mobile over a Smart Cap – meaning you can’t run up a huge bill. You set an amount that you like {£5 is the starting cap, but you can make it as low as £1} and if you use up all of the inclusive minutes/data in your contract, you can’t spend more any more than your smart cap. As a parent this is a great feature – no worry about your kiddos getting carried away and running up a huge bill.
Previously, I’ve often had to add on extra data if I’ve been away from home a lot that month as I only had 2GB on my contract. With the 4GB on the MAXI tariff, I’ve not had to worry about that at all even with uploading lots of photos and doing a spot of work here and there. I can’t imagine I’d ever use more than 5000 texts or 4000 minutes {given I HATE talking on the phone!!}
LIFE Mobile runs on the EE network, so there is no issue on poor coverage at all, in the house, out and about in town and even on day trips, I’ve always picked up a good signal. Setting up the SIM contract was really straightforward and easy through their website, and the SIM card only took a few days to arrive. LIFE Mobile are are currently ranked as the number 1 for best value for calls. I’d certainly recommend LIFE Moile if you are looking for a SIM only contract and are looking to sae money on your mobile bill without loosing out on data/minutes/texts.
