A morning in the park
These
Last Friday we were there fairly early in the morning {I say early, it was around 10am, which is early for us, but not early for most folk I’m sure!}. The park was pretty empty, the sun was shining and the sky was blue. It was perfect. It’s a lovely little park, plenty of space to ride bikes, two playparks, these wooden fitness equipment that the girls love playing on, and a bandstand where they have live music in the summer. We’re lucky to have it
practically on our doorstep.
The girls were excited to have Gramsie there, and were busy showing off all the things that they could do! We spied a few squirrels and birds, as well as collecting lots of blossom which had blown off the trees. It was a lovely morning, and made me excited for lots of picnics in the summer, and friday nights spent there listening to bands. It’s amazing how much more alive we all feel once the Winter is over and Spring arrives!

April 25, 2014 at 14:51Lovely pictures. I always think one of the advantages of homeschooling must be getting to use kids stuff when everyone else is at school!

April 25, 2014 at 16:12The pictures are truly idyllic, and so I imagine ins the scenery and weather. It all reminds me of my experiences as a boy during holidays with my mother – who tends to be a little conservative and did not have a great deal of interest in alternative education though I will admit I was a very difficult school child subject to much nasty bullying!
Despite the enormous pedological differences with Australia, a lot of the vegetation seems familiar to me, especially compared to the home in Ballarat of my late grandparents.
I will say that it charming to see a young child cycling without a helmet – which is not even legal in Australia!
